I stood and fired the projectile weapon at the backs of the fleeing
army. Not a particularly good move for a man who planned on going to
Chaos as soon as I could get away. The old emperor was dead, and now
might be a good time to meet some of my relatives.

What a weird and crazy day it had been. Jared started off talking to me
about the Truth as he saw it. It was apparent that Gabriel had put him up
to this. I know he doesn't like me. But he still felt strongly enough
about their amorphous cause to talk to me about what was to come. I found
myself admiring him. As we talked, he looked at me and his lips would
curl down a little in a grimace, but he kept on going. He also didn't
tell me what to do, he asked. For that I listened to him. I still don't
know what it is that I should do or can do. I almost think, that maybe I
am supposed to be ruler of chaos. Very interesting.

I spent the next two days shifting shadow and playing with my new found
skills. Perhaps the weeks of agony after walking the pattern were going
to pay off. The sky is not even the limit, when you can control reality.

I came back to find things going crazy. Biscuit had
disappeared. Apparently she was under some sort of magic spell. I
figured Caspian could trace her with some of her personal belongings. He
was non-commital as to the time, but thought he could help. Once again, I
mentally cursed not having any of this sorcery stuff at my disposal.

Then as I got back, I found out that Chaos had breached the wall. Merlin
lay damaged and Cordelia was already there. I told the others. I felt
armoured by prophecy and knew that I would be safe if I went. Mythos and
Jared also decided to go. Jared went off for something and then Mythos
started changing out of the very appealing, but not very practical black
leather and vinyl outfit she was wearing. I raised one eyebrow, but she
didn't seem to care that I was there. I wasn't going to waste the
opportunity to admire a damned fine body like that, and I only briefly
wondered what she was up to. Then Jared walked in. I'm not sure if she
wanted him to walk in or she was oblivious, or just caught up in the
throes of war. I wasn't quite sure I wanted to be part of whatever
subconcious game she was playing, if that's what it was. I wasn't
benefiting from it.

I backed away as Mythos went after him. There fight wasn't resolved. We
were all going off to a flavor of war I hadn't experienced before. This
swords and armor stuff is rather inconvenient.

We decided to get out of there, head over into chaos and see what we could
find. Luke seemed pleased at our offer to sneak ahead and shoot those in
charge. I looked at Mythos with admiration, and a little
eagerness. Guns! She was amused and threw one to me. We got off into
the forest, no problem, this major battle across the way was a distraction
and the sentries were easily avoidable until we got closer to the enemy
side.

I stopped. "Why don't I scout ahead and see what's out there? I can lead
us through some tricky stuff." Mythos looked grim. She was clenching her
jaw so hard, I wondered if she had the strength to break her teeth. Time
to leave her alone for a bit. I handed her the gun and my clothes and
shifted down into wolf form. I didn't catch her reaction. I crept
through the trees, the guards stank and I could easily avoid them. When I
got far enough in I shifted back and fingured out who was in charge.

I got back to Mythos, and shifted back. Once again her expression was
unreadable. I led the way. The leaves rustled in our passing, but I
steered us away from the people that would be matter. She still seemed
tense. I looked at her and said, "Don't worry about it. It's just a
spat. This isn't going to end things between you two."

"Oh, really," she said sourly.

I nodded slightly and thought about Jared and smiled, . "I can tell by the
way he always growls whenever I'm around."

She was thoughtful after that, but we were coming to the edge of the
forest. I motioned her to be quiet and pointed out the core of people who
seemed to be in charge. One, looked like Merlin, that must be Jakob. I
pointed him out to her. We shot together in unison, and his body exploded
in blood.

Then we ran.
