Yes, even I have a few friends. Check out their cool home pages (if they have one). Everyone's listed alphabetcally within their group, just to make my life easier.
Lisamarie
Babik: One of several friends that I met through gaming, she's the
author of the
, which contains several rather humorous columns.
Check it out!
Sol Foster:
Fellow Amber and Drageara player (not to mention Dim Sum enthusiast),
Sol's one of those people I've known for years, but only recently have our
orbits begun to intercept again. It's funny how life works that way. He
runs one of the funniest AmberCon games I've ever played in.
Sean Frost: An aspiring
writer and Tick fanatic, his latest project is an online comic called "Johnny Public." For several
years he ran a game he created based on Steven Brust's Dragaera books,
which was a lot of fun, even if the plot sometimes got so convoluted that
it made my head hurt. :)
Kristen Gibbs: Our paths just seem to keep crossing. We both play
Amber, we both have an interest in Japan (well, my interest was mostly in
anime), for a while I worked where she was going to school, and we have a
lot of friends in common. Plus, I sort of introduced her to her current
boyfriend. :)
Liam
Hoekenga: Singer, actor, a genuine Renaissance man. No wonder he
spends so much time working at the Renaissance Festival every year. Plus,
he has the most incredible blue eyes. :)
Andrew Inman: Computer
guru, Amber GM, masochist extraordinare, and man in perpetual need of a
vacation. He never sleeps. Really.
Lisa
Leutheuser: Or Evil Eal, as some call her.
Designer/gamer/writer/belly dancer. Really. I am not making this up.
Jill Pritts: My roommate for two
years while I was in college, which just goes to show you that some people
never learn. :) We've known each other for so long that we often finish
each other's sentences. I've even picked up the phone once or twice when
she's called before it even rang. Spooky.
Julie Raybon: Fellow nerf warrior and role-player, she's the only
person I've met whose characters wallow in more angst than mine. This
takes some doing, believe me. She is a craftswoman extraordinaire, and
all the people at Jo-Ann's Fabrics know her by name. She will try to
convince you that she really is *perfectly* sweet, innocent and harmless,
but I don't buy it for a second. :)
Matthew Richardson: The
things this man can do with Photoshop are truly impressive, and he is one
of the many excellent Amber GMs in the area. He also has one of the most
expressive faces that I've ever seen, and giggles like a Japanese school
girl.
Joe Saul: One of those people
who seems to know everyone. We all like him, despite the fact
that he went to law school. :)
Wendi
Strang-Frost: Wendi is an artist, and another evil Amber GM. She's
done the artwork on a couple of different comic books, including the last
"Wavedancers" story in Elfquest,
not to mention a few commissions that I now have hanging on my walls. :)
Check out her home page or "Wavedancers" for examples of her art, or her latest online comic, "Johnny
Public."
Jarrod Van
Kirk: Fellow gamer, sewer, and all-around fun person to hang out with.
Pity he's allergic to my cats.
Tony
Winkler: And you thought Kramer was a fictional character...
Dan
Winningham: "Friends help you move. Real friends help you move
bodies." He thinks he's Robert of Bruce. He also thinks he's a very good
boy. *snicker* Check out his cool beard. What, you can't see it? Well
neither can the rest of us, but we like him, so we play along. :)
Bob Geier: My housemate for two years, in the coolest house I ever
rented, he left to go back to school at Notre Dame (a most appropriate
place for a vulture), then moved out to Oregon. A wandering spirit, if
ever there was one, he recently decided to roost in Ann Arbor again,
conveniently when I was looking for a new housemate, and the rest is
history.
Chris
Bickford: One of my growing number of friends who lives out in
Chicago, fellow gaming and computer geek (although he'll deny it). Hates
the Merlin series of Roger Zelazny's Amber chronicles, so you know he
can't be half bad. He recently got married, which is less surprising when
you learn that he met his wife on the net.
Paul Estin:
Ironically, we almost met several years ago, when a mutual friend
suggested that Paul look me up, based on our mutual interest in comic
books. One of the few people I know who can actually talk my ear off, as
opposed to the other way around.
Chris and
Sarah Kindred: Role-players and big dog lovers, they dwell in the
desert known as Las Vegas. I only get to see them at the various
AmberCons, which really isn't enough. I'd say they were kindred spirits,
but that would be an awful pun. :)
Ian Ng: I've known
Ian for several years, primarily through our interactions at various
AmberCons. Don't ever put him together with Sean Frost in a game if you
want to maintain a serious tone - together they reach some kind of
critical mass for silliness, with hilarious results. If you don't believe
me, check out some of their quotes
from AmberCon 2000.
Scott
Nolan: I met Scott at an Amber gaming convention in 1999 and had an
absolute blast talking to him. Pity he lives in DC. Some of the stories
he told had me laughing so hard I almost wet myself. Ask him to tell you
the one about the Atomic Sit-up, sometime.
Heather Coon: Fellow Bab5 fanatic and BoSox sufferer. She also makes
a mean Chicken Teriyaki.
Troy Wollenslegel:
Owner of more cool toys than I could ever even dream of affording, and the
creator of "Troy-sequitors". If you have to ask, you don't know Troy. I
almost managed to get him to take flying lessons, but he decided to get a
new motorcycle instead. :)
